CBD Oil Of course, CBD is a fatty substance. Cannabinoids such as CBD and CBG are essentially fatty compounds found in the cannabis plant. The advantage of this is that cannabinoids are very easy to extract from industrial hemp—using pure alcohol or certain gases, for example. This is because fatty substances, such as these cannabinoids derived from industrial hemp, are difficult for the human body to absorb.
Diluting hemp extracts with oils such as olive oil and coconut oil sometimes helps to increase the viscosity of the product. This means that it could also help in the absorption of cannabinoids from the oral tissue. Although research has shown that even when diluted with good oil, the available CBD in regular oil is only partially absorbed. Approximately 6-12% of ingested CBD is processed by the body as it should be. This means you lose about 88-94% of what you just consumed – because it couldn’t travel through the oral tissue.
