Over 150 secondary cannabinoids <\/strong><\/b>have already been identified in the cannabis plant and the THCJD (tetrahydrocannabidiol)<\/strong><\/b> is one of them. Although it is said to be a completely new cannabinoid, information on its chemical structure suggests that it had already been identified in the 1941<\/strong><\/b> and is known as THC-Octyl or THC-C8<\/strong><\/b>. The term THCJD may therefore be used purely for marketing purposes (or for other reasons unknown to us).<\/p>\n

THCJD is allegedly located
\n in small amounts directly in the cannabis plant<\/strong>
\n<\/b>but the
\n production <\/strong>
\n<\/b> of
\n in the laboratory by <\/strong>
\n<\/b>
\n
\n isolated CBD<\/strong>
\n <\/u>
\n<\/b> <\/b>is more common. Structurally, it is similar to THC, but has a longer alkyl chain. Let’s now take a closer look at how it differs from the more familiar cannabinoid THC.<\/p>\n

THCJD vs. THC<\/b><\/h2>\n

THCJD is a homologue of the psychoactive cannabinoid THC<\/strong><\/b> (delta-9-THC). Bonds are compounds of the same type with similar chemical structure and properties.<\/p>\n

The fundamental difference between the two cannabinoids lies in the length of the side (alkyl) chain. While the
\n THC has a five-carbon chain, THCJD has eight carbon atoms in the side chain<\/strong>
\n<\/b>. Research shows that
\n the longer the chain, the more potent the cannabinoid can be<\/strong>
\n<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The psychoactivity of THC comes from its interaction with the CB1 receptor in the
\n endocannabinoid system<\/u>
\n<\/a>. And because THCJD has an extended carbon tail,
\n it is expected to be even more active at CB1 receptors<\/strong>
\n<\/b> and so the
\n psychoactive effects may be many times stronger<\/strong>
\n<\/b>.<\/p>\n

THC is one of the best known and, along with CBD<\/a>, most studied compounds from the cannabis plant, and many scientific studies are examining not only its chemical structure and properties, but also its potential therapeutic potential. THC, for example, can relieve pain and help with cramps, nausea and vomiting, while CBD can relieve symptoms in certain types of epilepsy, help with sleep and relieve stress and anxiety. We do not yet know what, if any, therapeutic potential THCJD has, as there are no scientific studies on this compound.<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

Because of the above, we really have very little information about how THCJD affects the human body and mind. Based on user testimonials, we know that
\n THCJD can produce very strong psychoactive effects<\/strong>

\n<\/b> can reportedly cause feelings of relaxation, euphoria, excitement. However, before you start enthusiastically ordering THCJD products for yourself and your friends, you should also be aware of some risks that may be associated with this type of compound.<\/p>\n
